Changing the HDMI port on PlayStation 5 (PS5) is a complex improvement that requires the right technical skills and tools. However, if you are sure of your skills, here is a general guide on how to change the HDMI port on PS5:

The tools you need:

Phillips screwdriver (for screws)

Tweezers

Solder kit (for desoldering and resoldering)

Plastic spudger or Tool Pry (to open the PS5 casing without damage it)

HDMI replacement port (make sure compatible with PS5)

Solder Iron and Solder Wire (to solder the new HDMI port)

Antistatic wrist rope (to prevent electrostatic release)

Step by step guide:

1. Power off and unplug PS5

Make sure your PS5 is completely powered and pulled out of the wall.

2. Unloading PS5

Remove the side panel: Using your plastic spudger or hand, gently pull the side panel. Be careful, because the panel can be a little complicated to be removed without damage.

Remove the screw: Use a phillips screwdriver to release the screw that secures a metal casing. Monitor where every screw goes, because some may vary in size.

3. Remove the internal component

Remove any internal component with the carefulness, such as the power supply, the cooling fan, and the motherboard. You may need to decide on a few cables (being soft).

After the motherboard can be accessed, you must be able to see the damaged HDMI port.

4. Damaged HDMI Port Desolder

Before you start to decrease, make sure you are based on an antistatic wrist to avoid destructive sensitive components.

Use the solder iron to heat the solder on a damaged HDMI port pin. After the solder melts, use the solder suction or decrease the braid to delete the solder and free the pins from the board.

Gently remove the damaged HDMI port from the motherboard using tweezers.

5. Clean the area

After the port is removed, you want to clean the remaining solder using isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.

Check the motherboard for all the damage from the old HDMI port. If there is a bearing or a broken trail, you may need to fix it before installing a new port.

6. Solder Port HDMI New

Position the new HDMI port in the correct orientation and make sure it is in harmony with the PCB (Print Circuit Board).

Solder Pin Port New HDMI to the motherboard. Be careful not to make a solder bridge between adjacent pins.

7. Back to PS5

After the new HDMI port is soldered safely in its place, you can start installing your PS5.

Re -connect all cables and components, such as cooling fans, power supplies, and motherboards.

The screws all returned to their place, then get rid of the side panels back.

8. PS5 Test

Replace your PS5 and test the HDMI connection with the screen. If everything works well, the new HDMI port must function as expected.

If you are still experiencing problems, re -check your solder work or test with other HDMI cables or TVs.

Important Tips:

Avoid overheating: be careful not to be too hot to the motherboard when reduced. Prolonged heat can cause damage to other components on the blackboard.
