Theme park news: new 2026 discounts coming to Walt Disney World

But all you need to do is look ahead to January to find out the world of theme parks isn’t slowing down at all; if anything, we’re just in the middle of the best storm that never ends.

Summer hotel discounts and promotions announced for Walt Disney World

Disney World almost always has at least a few active hotel promotions if you want to save on your next vacation. Summer 2026 looks very exciting with the latest wave of discounts.

All guests can save up to 30% at select Disney World Resort hotels for stays of 5 nights or more most nights May 1 to October 4, 2026. Guests can save up to 25% for stays of 1 to 4 nights in the same period.

If you’re a Florida resident or a Disney World Annual Passholder, you can save even more. Florida residents can save up to 35% for stays of 4 nights or more starting from arrival May 1 to June 29. Annual Passholders can save up to 40% for stays of 4 nights or more for arrivals from 1 May to 29 June.

The exact amount of savings usually depends on the type of resort you book. Deluxe Resorts tend to offer higher discounts, but you can still save a lot of change even when you stay at a Value or Moderate Resort.

2 day free promotion announced for Walt Disney World

If the offer above wasn’t attractive enough, perhaps the next offer will be! Guests can get it two nights of free room and a theme park day when they purchase a particular 4-night, 4-day (or longer) Walt Disney World room and ticket package. Essentially you get a 6 day trip for the price of a 4 night package!

This deal is valid for arrivals most nights from May 26 to September 15, 2026. You’ll need to act a little quicker if you want to redeem this offer can only be ordered until February 15, 2026.

Cool Kids’ Summer will return to Walt Disney World in 2026

In addition to the discounts, Disney World is giving back additional incentives to book a summer visit. Cool Kids Summer, a limited time offering that families who visited last summer may remember, will return in 2026 from May 26 to September 8.

Cool Kids’ Summer features special activations for young guests to enjoy dance partyaddition Morning characters meet and greet in the parkand much more. Guests staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation ResortQ, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort will have more experiences and amenities designed for families with young children during Cool Kids Summer, including scheduled visits from favorite Disney friends.

Don’t forget that Bluey and Bingo will begin making meet and greet appearances at Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting this summer. The exact start date for the meet-and-greet has not been announced.

New kid-centric entertainment will also be part of Cool Kids’ Summer. The family can catch him Jessie Meeting, new show at the Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom, or its return GoofyCore at CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Don’t forget about free children’s Meal Package offer — guests can get a free Disney Dining Plan for kids ages 3 to 9 when you purchase a package for you and your kids that includes a Dining Plan for all guests ages 10 and up and a room at a Disney Resort hotel.

Free water park admission dates announced for 2026

I want to make special note of that offer free water park admission, although it’s technically considered part of this year’s Cool Kids Summer season. Free water park options are returns from May 26 to September 8, meaning if you have an arrival date within this period at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can take advantage of this amazing benefit.

All guests named on the hotel reservation receive free admission to one of the Disney World water parks on the day of arrival and check-in. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open during this period, giving you the option to choose which water park you want to enjoy on your first day at Walt Disney World.

• Disney World reveals its closing date Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. The last day you can see the original version of the attraction is March 1. Starting March 2, the ride will be temporarily closed due to the switch to a new version starring The Muppets. The new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will debut in summer 2026.

  • There are three virtual series taking place in 2026: the first from June 1 to August 31, the Virtual Spooktacular from October 1 to 31, and the Virtual 12K Christmas will take place from December 1 to 31.
• The next Disney Cruise Line ship to join its fleet, Disney Adventure, has transferred ownership of the Meyer Werft Shipyard to Disney. The ship was en route from Germany to the Caribbean and Florida for a brief stopover before departing for her hometown of Singapore. Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage is scheduled for March 10, 2026.
